Tails
Almost all browbirds have a tail! They are a big part of browbird life, with their clothing often being made to accommodate tails. Tails are also a big part of how browbirds communicate and understand each other, with their tails wagging, twitching, shaking, or puffing up to match whatever the browbird is feeling.
✦ Are browbird tails prehensile?
Some of them are, while others behave like usual tails that can move, but are unable to grab things or support much weight. Tails like the common mouse tail, or uncommon whip tail are types that are more likely to be prehensile, while silken or draping are simply long fur.
✦ Can browbirds have cropped or injured tails?
Yes, tails can be cropped, cut, injured, have kinks in them, scars, ect! For the masterlist, they will be written as whatever they most resemble in their cropped state, as opposed to what the imagined full length tail is. Tails cannot have exposed bone or open wounds (not scars), however!
As some tails are quite big, tail injures happen more than you might think. Usually, these injuries could be healed, but not always! There are also some who have their tails cut off as punishment for a great loss or betrayal. Some warriors as well will intentionally cut their tails short to prevent them from being pulled or stepped on during battle, as browbird tails are quite sensitive!
✦ Can tails have piercings?
Yes! Small piercings and rings that go through the tail tip in the case of spade, shaped, and razor tails are fine! There should be no large, visible holes.
✦ Can Tails have different fur/hair textures?
Yes! You can have type of texture for your browbirds hair or fur.
✦ Can tails be styled, such as a draping tail being braided?
Yes! Please make sure the length is kept in mind when braiding/styling tails.
✦ Does tail length or amount of tails count as a separate rarity?
These traits stack and will count as only one trait total: Style, Length, Number of Tails.
All additional tail traits are counted individually.
✦ Can tail styles be combined?
Yes! Some types are able to be merged together to create blends of different types of tails.

Common Types of Tails
Common tails are...
✦ Short in size, their length only goes to the browbird's knees
✦ Thin, fluffy, tufted, or entirely made of fur
✦ Always soft with short or long fur
The tails shown are not the only possible tails for browbirds. You can combine styles, or create new ones! The tails below are meant only as a guideline for how common browbird tails should look.

Common browbird tails are usually only as long as the example on the left, with a little bit of wiggle room, but they should generally be around that length. However, for certain common tails they can be considerably longer like the example on the right. The Mouse, Spade, Leo, Kitty, and Lovely tails can be just long enough to brush the ground, but any longer would likely be uncommon or rare!
Uncommon Types of Tails
Uncommon tails are...
✦ Mid length in size, often stopping around the ankles or feet of the browbird
✦ Thin, fluffy, tufted, or entirely made of fur
✦ Always soft with short or long fur
✦ They can be split up to halfway down the tail

Uncommon browbird tails are usually only as long as the example on the left, being about as long as the ankles or to the feet. The absolute longest an uncommon tail can be is enough to brush the ground.
However, certain specific uncommon tails can be somewhat longer. The forest, monkey, shaped, and whip tail can be a slight bit longer than the browbird's entire body, from the top of their head to their feet.

Rare Types of Tails
Rare tails are...
✦ Long in size, they can be up to one and a half times the body length
✦ Thin, fluffy, tufted, or entirely made of fur
✦ Always soft with short or long fur
✦ Can be up to two tails, these tails can match or be different tail styles

Rare browbird tails, at max, can be roughly one and a half times the length of the browbird's body with some wiggle room. An example of the largest a tail can be in terms of length and fluffiness is shown above.
Mythical Types of Tails
Mythic tails are...
✦ Often ridiculously long in size, anything longer than a rare tail is considered mythic
✦ Thin, fluffy, tufted, or entirely made of fur
✦ Always soft with short or long fur
✦ Can be any number of tails
Mythic tails styles have more particular looks to them, but they can be combined with each other or features from tails of the other rarities.
