The actual name of the browbird species is generally Cyonae (Pronounced as "Scion-Eye") or a close variation among their native languages. The name was taken after they migrated to the new world after the destruction of their original one and was mutually agreed on by the various leaders of society at the time. It was intended to represent the fact that they were beginning a new life, as well as all descending from the same ancestors and roots of their old world to inherit the new one.
The name browbird was made popular from the fact most other races associated them with their large tufts of hair above the eyes and their feet resembling that of an avian (or similar creatures with the similar foot structure) so general these species 'nicknames' will usually translate to browbird in some way! Browbirds don't mind this association, as they appreciate their large and beautiful eyebrows being acknowledged this much by other people.

★ Anatomy & Physiology ★
★ Lifespan & Aging
• As a species, browbirds tend to age rather gracefully. Evidence of age is often shown by signs of graying or white within a browbird's coat.
• A browbird becomes an adult at the age of 20.
• Normal, healthy browbirds live to be around 200-250 years old.
• Hiros can live to about 300 years.
• Ancients can grow to be around 2000 years old! However this is incredibly rare and has only been recorded a few times.
• Revenants cannot die by normal means or aging.
• Halvs have varying lifespans depending on how stable they are.

★ Size & Body type
• Their heights have a wide range, but at a base level they are similar to human heights, though they have the potential to be much bigger, or very tiny! Another thing of not is that there doesn't seem to be any specific 'average' height or size, nor is there a body type that is considered more attractive than another. Adult heights vary from 4'0" to 7'0"
• They can have any range of body types. Chubby, fat, thin, lithe, muscular, curvy, ect! No restrictions on body type do what you like! Feel free to change your character's body type.

★ Fur
• They are completely covered in fur. The fur is thinnest on their hard, pointed nose, and feet, but that's also where it is the softest! Their noses feel just like fine velvet. Browbird fluff is rather thick and feels much like very soft, long hair cat fur. It can be a lot of work to keep clean for the fluffier browbirds! Their hair texture specifically can be anything you want.
To clarify, "hair" is present on the top of the head and the ends of certain tails. "Fluff" is present everywhere else on the body. These two things do not always have the same texture or color!
• A common misconception people make about browbirds is that they are feathered when this is not true! They are covered in soft fluff, aside from hiros browbirds of course, who tends to have large feathered wings and sometimes feathered bodies.
• They groom quite often and have various shampoos, soaps, and scents specifically made for their fur. They also tend to brush themselves consistently, similar to how you must brush a cat regularly.

★ Eyes
• Their eyes are very sensitive and they can see well in dark places. Their fluffy eyebrows, along with their long lashes help to keep any kind of dirt and dust out of their big eyes. There are a variety of different eyes, some are more adapted to the dark than others. Eyes can be any color.
★ Horns
• while they have horns, they aren't actually used for headbutting, fighting, or anything like that. Traditions such as those died a long time ago, and now the horns are just there for display with larger, more elaborate horns being seen as a status symbol. Often times, when a browbird accomplishes something they will have images, designs, or words carved into their horns to tell the story or to represent their accomplishments. These designs will stay present on the horns for this browbird's whole life, and will likely still be readable after the browbird dies as the horns are tough and take a long time to decompose. Allowing their stories to exist for all time! This is a very important thing in browbird culture.
• Touching the horns of another browbird without permission is seen as an act of rudeness.
• Browbirds who are very close will often times lightly bump their horns together as an act of affection.
• Browbird horns are incredibly tough and sturdy, making them very difficult to break without means of magic. Breaking horns is usually only accomplished by means of magic, and it is a very painful process. Often times, when a browbird loses a great battle the victor will sever one of the losing birb's horns as a trophy, disgracing the one who lost. It is considered to be worth than punishing the loser with death. This is especially harsh if the loser had obtained horn carvings, as the winner would then be taking away part of that browbird's story and legacy.
• Browbirds paint and decorate their horns in various colors, patterns, fabrics, and ribbons, often in times of celebration or just because they want to feel pretty.

★ Natural Abilities
• Browbirds can run very fast, have good reflexes, and are excellent climbers. They have sharp nails and teeth, and an excellent sense of smell. They are able to see in the dark for up to 60 feet in front of themselves.
• Most have some form of hunting or fighting instinct, though some are far more adapted to this than others.
• Browbirds who are native to forested areas have more skill with climbing trees and quickly moving through difficult terrain, while browbirds who are more adapted to the deserted areas have shorter fur, and less trouble when it comes to managing body heat and water conservation.

★ Diet
• They are an omnivorous species, but they eat more plants/nuts/fruits/vegetables than they do meats these days. When they do eat meat they can eat it cooked or raw without issue. They are capable of eating and digesting bones just fine.
• Browbirds actually have very sensitive tums otherwise and are not well adapted to highly processed foods, caffeine, or alcohol as those are not normal things for them. But there's nothing against a browbird who can have these things and enjoys them! Most just need to build up a tolerance first.

★ Language, Speech & Communication
• Browbirds can pick up other languages very quickly. They are also very good at mimicking sounds and such.
• Their own language is comprised primarily of spoken words. But they also make chirping sounds, screeches, hisses, growls, and purrs.
• they also communicate through crests, as they flicker and change slightly with a browbird's emotional states
• Browbird ears, tails, and even their fur is very expressive as well. (they can puff up like cats!)

★ Lifestyle & Culture ★
★ Gender & Sexuality
• Browbirds do not abide by the same social constructs of gender and sexuality that humans currently do, as they are an alien species.
Browbirds can be any gender and use any pronouns!
Browbirds can be any sexuality and have all kinds of attractions and relationships!
★ Flocks
• Many browbirds don't like to live alone since they are an extremely social species, and will instead live in little close family-like units called flocks. All browbirds in a flock will share a household and pay for things together and such. Flocks usually consist of 3 to 10 browbirds. The relationships of the browbirds within these flocks can be anything from close friends, to romantic, to sexual, and everything in between. There are also the few browbirds who prefer to live on their own, but this sometimes can give rise to suspicion from others since it's seen as odd by societal standards.
• Flocks tend to bond for life in some way, but inviting new members into a flock is always allowed if the other members are alright with it! If a flockmate dies it is devastating on the others.
★ Family
• Browbirds do not really have the same concept of family that humans have, parent/child bonds don't really exist in most of their central culture. It is not unheard of though, and can be seen in those who do not live near any of the central areas of the empire. Such as ones living in outer territories, those who travel often, and those who were raised/live around non-browbird species.
★ Friendship & Affection
• Browbirds are do not see close contact as inherently romantic. Friends can cuddle and nuzzle each other without being in a romantic relationship. It's completely normal and natural for them. Flocks actually enjoy sleeping in big cuddle piles! This type of thing is far less common with strangers though.
• They shown affection by softly bumping foreheads or gently tapping their horns together. Smooches and nose bumps. And curling their tails together.
★ Clothing
• Browbirds wear as much or as little clothing as they please and other birbs don't really care. Being nude for them isn't really seen as sexual so no one really cares if one walks around naked. Go for it.
• Browbirds can wear anything they like, as they have many influences from different cultures and browbirds as a whole absolutely adore other places, species, cultures, and learning all about these things as well as partaking in them. Clothing, accessories, and other items can be made up, based on movies or games, be fantasy or sci-fi, or inspired by real life clothing styles so long that it is done respectfully! (Do your research please!)
I ask that you don't make a 100% copy of a recognizable outfit from a movie or game please, but inspiration and outfits themed around your favorite character are totally acceptable!

Something few other species are aware of is the fact that browbirds are incredibly large fans of denim, they find it to be incredibly comfortable and useful for all sorts of clothing items, and can made to fit very well to their bodies, particularly their leg structure. When denim was first introduced to the celestial seas at large, browbirds took an intense liking to it and these days most browbirds who've had some type of contact with mainstream civilization will have at least one denim item in their wardrobes. Pants are the most popular item.
Denim is comfortable and necessary.

There are different subcultures within browbird society, as to be expected from any species of people. There are countless cultures with varying amounts of people within them, each with different clothing styles and preferences. While their society has influences of powerful technology and cultural influence from other species in the universe, their roots still shine through and many browbirds will wear things stemming from their heritage.
Some common traditional clothing items are
- horn scarves || many small pieces of colorful fabrics and similar tied around the horns
- traditionally hunted and prepared furs || these are often used for lining, 'false' neck fluff, and cloaks.
- floral decorations in the hair and tail || most popular with wood-oriented browbirds, they will braid and twist many flowers into their hair one by one, it takes time but the result is considered quite beautiful! Hiros browbirds will weave flowers into their wing feathers sometimes.
(more tba and drawn!)
★ Eyebrow Culture
• Eyebrows are extremely important and sacred in browbird culture, they take excellent care of their brows with eyebrow-specific combs and shampoos. Even the thought of shaving them off is considered a sin. A browbird with long, well-groomed brows is thought to be both wise and attractive. Take good care of your eyebrows or else you're a dirty sinner.

★ Upbringing & Expectations ★
★ Within Central Browbird Society
• Once laid, all browbird eggs are brought to a specialized hatchery and the children are all hatched and raised together in a large group by various teachers and specialized caretakers. There are two hatch time frames each year, one week during the summer cycle, and another week during the winter cycle. When babies hatch directly correlates with when the egg was laid and which season it was conceived in. Hatching weeks are celebrated by everyone as a holiday, since eggs have a considerable gestation period. Eggs also start out rather small, but gradually grow larger bit by bit as time passes.
• Hatchlings, or browbabies, hatch from their bright, colorful eggs as fluffy little monsters that need close supervision at all times. They are born with a full set of teeth, sharp claws, gain their sight minutes after hatching and begin walking within a few days. They are incredibly curious, destructive, loud, and HUNGRY as children and they become much more terrifying when they realize they possess magic and start experimenting. If not properly taken care of and carefully watched, a browbaby will likely destroy homes or burn an entire forest to the ground.
Imagine a giant, needy parrot mixed with a human child with the reflexes of a cat and give it powerful, destructive magic and that's basically a browbird baby. They love breaking things for fun, screaming, and eating literally everything they can fit in their mouth. That's how they tend to behave at a very young age, but temperaments can vary, a calm and quiet baby is not unheard of!
• Once matured at the age of 20, browbirds are finally made to leave the raising grounds, though some may leave earlier on if they feel they're ready. It is encouraged to leave as early as possible and get your start in life! Browbirds then can choose what they want to do, likely based on what they enjoyed growing up. Almost any type of job or profession is possible, though some are more well regarded than others.
★ Outside of Central Browbird Society - Basically everywhere else
• On the rim of the birb empire, and anywhere beyond where browbirds live or travel things are much different! Any browbirds that moved away, reject, or were born outside of browbird society can take influence from many other cultures across the stars. There are no real expectations or specific way they are raised.
• Browbirds who were adopted by another species or who were raised by their birb parent(s) are certainly not out of the question, there are many of them! They are considered a bit weird in the eyes of browbirds back on the homeworld, but they will still be welcomed back if they choose to return.

★ Why do many browbirds dislike void magic?
• The primary reason is their fear of the unknown, nothingness, disease, death-- all of which are a few things that the void aspect deals with. Void is also an incredibly powerful school of magic, each aspect within it is capable of doing things that are difficult to counter by other aspects. These things are not BAD, as they're a necessary part of life and needed to keep balance, as well as important parts of void-based cultures.
• Due to the actions of a small group of void browbirds lead by a deimity (A very powerful type of browbird) by the name of Rovok, who turned many void browbirds to the side of Avys'karn, a god entity imprisoned within the void itself. Avys'karn, also known by many as "Steve", took hold on these browbirds and directed them towards evil paths to further his own agenda: a way to escape his prison. These events are what originally sparked the core conflicts of The Void Wars. While the majority of void browbirds fought against Steve, Rovok, and their many followers, ultimately non void browbirds still unfairly blamed the events on void browbirds as a whole.
• Void magic is where the death aspect stems from, which allowed for the creation of revenants-- some of the most feared and powerful browbirds who were used as tools and warriors in the void wars. However they are only possible with the power of void ancients.
• None of this means that the void aspect is bad, in fact it is quite the opposite! It is the opposite of all celestial magic and forms a fundamental part to the balance of the universe, and it is thought that when all else ends the void will still remain. The void is also quite accepting of those with no where else to go, and to some the shadows and unknown can be quite comforting. While those with more narrow mindsets simply associate it with 'evil', others think of it as something powerful, elegant, and-- above all-- mysterious. It is something few can ever hope to understand, and it is a very difficult aspect to master.
Browbirds with entirely black fur from head to toe are considered very regal and of high status, as they are colors that usually only a void ancient would have. Browbirds like this used to be heavily feared due to the fact they were capable of raising the dead and manipulating the shadow in ways no one else could imagine. There are very few of them left now, so it is a rarity nowadays, but if one does happen to pop up they will receive high respects from others.
★ Are void browbird's a threat?
• No. Almost all of them wish only to live in peace and fairness among their non-void peers, they disagree with what Rovok did and don't want to associate with him or his cult and there is no good reason why they are treated badly in some places to this day, as it's been a very long time (though it's more so by older browbirds and the palatine). There are also very few sources to teach young void browbirds how to use their magic further than the basics and how to control it, making it extremely difficult for a void browbird to be some kind of destructive force even if they wanted to be, not to mention they'd likely be feared for even trying to get that far. Void browbirds don't have much to defend themselves in the form of their void magics usually, and due to many social stigmas outside their own societies they will keep it a secret or not train it at all to avoid suspicion and bigotry.
Outside of central browbird territories, void users are much more widely accepted.

★ Powers & Abilities ★
★ Magical Abilities
• Browbirds are a magic-based species, meaning all browbirds are capable of magic. There has never been a single known browbird who didn't have some type of magical power.
• All browbirds will have two magical aspects, the total number of aspects can be increased through rigorous training over many years, through specialized items, or through intense influence from pure magic. The intensity of the aspect and the abilities that come with it are completely dependent on the one who wields it. Two fire aspect browbirds could have completely different focuses in fire magic, one could specialize in controlling and shaping flames, and the other could specialize in creating flames and lighting things ablaze. And this is only at a base level, as there is a ridiculous amount of possibilities for magical aspects and how they can be used.
★ Strengths and Weaknesses
• This section is a work in progress.
★ Powers
All browbirds have a basic set of abilities, though these are all completely optional and you can choose to disregard them or have a character who struggles with these things!
---
• Magical Sense - Browbirds are able to detect magical energies, though it is sometimes difficult to know exactly where the source is specifically, or what type of magic it is.
---
• Dark Vision - Browbirds are able to see fairly well in dark and dimly lit places.
---
• Outter Soul - Browbird souls are their crests, and these crests cannot be touched by any outside force. All birb magic is drawn from their crest unless another source is being used to draw from. This means that browbird souls, and their magic, is locked within their crests and cannot be destroyed or easily disabled.

• Outter Soul - Browbird souls are their crests, and these crests cannot be touched by any outside force. All birb magic is drawn from their crest unless another source is being used to draw from. This means that browbird souls, and their magic, is locked within their crests and cannot be destroyed or easily disabled.

★ Injuries, Illness, & Death ★
★ Magical Healing
• While there is many forms of healing magic, these magics are not a cure for everything. Healing magic primarily works alongside regular medical care, and in cases of injury, magical healing would be more effective soon after the injury. Basically: magic cannot fix everything!
★ Prosthetics
• Browbirds have the technology capable of replaces various parts of their bodies that they might've lost or damaged through accident, battle, or other such things. While these options are relatively easily available, they aren't required and other browbirds usually wouldn't look down on someone for not doing so.
• Things such as replacement limbs, tails, and eyes are a few of the many options! These things can all function well, and have a variety of styles and functions.
• Prosthetic should not be made of things like living wood, ice, crystal, or anything else that may overlap with ancient traits.
